Here’s what SimsVIP gleaned from the event: My first impressions are that it’s far better than Sim City’s belated efforts. Over at SimsVIP, there’s a breakdown of what to expect from The Sims 4 at launch as far as mods are concerned. Let’s start with something that seems unambiguously good, and which I opted to highlight in the headline: mod support. The fallout of news from EA and Maxis’ rather cloyingly named ‘Creator’s Camp’ event is no exception. Bad news! You aren’t getting any swimming pools or toddlers in the base game. Good news! The create-a-Sim function seems to be pretty extensive and easy to use. The Sims 4 is having a weird PR ride to launch, where every positive thing seems to have a negative accompaniment. She’s excited … or … enraged? Maybe both.
